About the Event
The Podiatrists Registration Board CPD programme requires Registered Podiatrists to complete 3 hours of infection control training every 2 years. The CPD cycle commences 1 Jan 2022. PodiatryNZ is keen to provide appropriate training so members are able to to complete this area of compulsory CPD early in the cycle.
This year we have scheduled training on Best Practice - Infection Control (including sterilisation). To be delivered in 3 x 1 hour sessions over 3 months. The session dates and times are:
· Wednesday, 2 March 7 – 8 pm
· Wednesday, 6 April 7 – 8 pm
· Wednesday, 4 May 7 – 8 pm
PodiatryNZ encourages members to work to the Allied Health NZ Standard 8171:2005. Section 5.5 of this Standard relates to Infection Control. This Standard is promoted to PodiatryNZ members through our Clinic Handbook Accreditation training.
These sessions will be facilitated by podiatrist Natalie Tanner who moved from the UK to NZ late last year. In the UK Natalie worked as a podiatrist in the private sector and as a Podiatric Surgical Registrar in the NHS specialising in limb salvage. She started her career working in specialised diabetic foot clinics and prior to moving to New Zealand became a Fellow of the College of Podiatric Surgeons
James Taylor from J.S.T. Medical will assist Natalie. James is a specialist in Autoclave & Washer Disinfector servicing and has been helping clinicians with AS/NZS:4815 &4187 for over 6 years. JST Medical has over 40 year’s total experience in the service, repair and testing of a wide range of equipment in the health settings.
